Banners and images
Three tools make the pictures your campaigns run on. The Image Generator makes new images from a brief, in your brand's look, at the exact size each placement needs. Banner Studio builds banners – display ads, social formats, email headers – as editable layers, in every size you need, exported as images or as HTML5 packages ready for Google Ads and DV360. Image Center edits the images you have and resizes one image into every format. All three work in your brand and save everything to the brand's Library.
Image Generator
Open it from Studios → Image Generator.
What it shows is the brief: the subject, the scene and the one idea the image should get across. The look is not part of the brief – it comes from your brand's image style (Brand → Image style), shown on the page with its colours and mood. Add 3 to 10 images there and every image follows the look they share.
How strictly should images follow this style? sits under the style guide in Brand → Image style, one choice per brand, saved as soon as you pick it:
- Exactly – every image in your main style. For brands with strict guidelines.
- Within your brand (the default) – the look varies, always on brand: a poster for a short statement, an illustration for a situation.
- Test looks – posters and illustrations take turns across the week, and each post is marked with its look, so you can compare how each one does.
It sets how the pictures for your social posts are chosen. The choice appears once your brand has a style guide read from its images; until then pictures vary within your brand. A guide rewritten from new images keeps the choice.
Load from another brand, beside the image count in Brand → Image style, copies another brand's reference images and its style guide (with this choice) onto the brand you are on – useful when you built the style on a test brand. Nothing is uploaded or read again, and the other brand keeps its own. If this brand already has a style, you are asked before it is replaced.
Add words to the image takes a headline, a supporting line and a button. They are set exactly as written, and nothing else is added. Without them an image carries no words, even when your brand's look is typographic – unless the brief asks for text. Words on an image are set in your brand font (Brand → Visual identity), by name – the image model knows well-known typefaces such as Proxima Nova without any files. While the brand font is still the default (Inter), each image chooses the type that suits its design.
Size is where the image goes: Instagram post, square post, story, LinkedIn post, a shared link, X, Pinterest, YouTube thumbnail, website hero, blog header, e-mail header, the social sharing image, a Meta feed ad, the standard display sizes and, under App stores, the Google Play feature graphic (1024 × 500) – or your own width and height, from 64 to 4,096 pixels. Every image arrives at exactly that size. App stores holds art only: both stores require screenshots of the real app, so App Store Optimization plans and checks screenshots but never makes them.
Model is your choice:
- Nano Banana 2.1 (Google's Gemini image model) – the better choice when the image carries words: headlines, labels, charts. It renders the nearest standard shape and is trimmed to your size. A form you last used on Nano Banana 2 opens on 2.1.
- Muse (Meta) – renders at your exact size. Strong on photography, people and scenes; less reliable with words in the picture.
References – up to six, uploaded or from your Library – are a product, a person or a place to keep; the image restages them for the brief. When you give words, words printed in a reference are not reused.
Logo: When it fits puts your logo on ads and banners, or when the brief asks for it; On and Off decide it yourself. Your own logo is used, never a redrawn one.
How many makes 1 to 4 images, each its own take on the brief. Each costs 3 credits, shows as soon as it is ready, and is saved to the Library on its own. One that fails costs nothing. Under each image is the idea it was built on, with Download, Full size, Use as a reference and a link to it in the Library. Recent images below lets you reuse an earlier image as a reference, or its brief.
Banner Studio
Starting a banner
Start from offers three ways in:
- Canvas – pick a size (a preset or your own width × height) and an empty canvas opens with your brand kit ready. Everything else happens in the editor.
- Template – choose a template from the gallery, fill in its words and details, and pick a size. The template builds the banner: a picture made for it at that exact size, with the headline, subline and button as editable layers on top.
- Brief – Describe the banner in your own words. The description steers the picture only; it never appears on the banner. The words come from the Headline, Subline and Button fields. Under Layout you choose where the Words sit (left, right, centre or top), how the Text aligned, and where the button goes. Add Reference images when the picture should follow your product or a style.
The Logo switch is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, your logo arrives as a normal layer in the corner you pick, clear of the words, and you can move and resize it like any other layer. If the switch is greyed out, add a logo to your brand profile first.
Import a PSD brings an existing design in as layers.
The editor
Every part of a banner is a layer: text, images, video, shapes and buttons. Drag, resize and rotate any of them, select several at once, reorder, hide, duplicate and nudge with the arrow keys; guides snap layers into line; undo and redo cover every change. Your brand colours lead every colour picker and your brand typeface leads the font list; you can also upload your own fonts.
Your brand's own font. In Brand → Visual identity, Brand font takes a preset or Another font… – any typeface by name, a Google font or one like Proxima Nova. The note under it says where it is used. A Google font works everywhere. A font Google Fonts does not have is used by name: AI images set their words in it, and presentations and the e-mails the AI writes name it; banners keep their default font. To use it in banners too, upload its files once under Your fonts: WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 5 MB each, every style you have (Regular, Bold, Italic …). The family and style are read from the file names, and a family can be renamed. Pick it as the brand font and save. Everyone on the brand then has it in Banner Studio, with each style drawn from its own file, and it goes into the banners you export. A font uploaded inside Banner Studio stays in that browser only.
The timeline animates any layer – fade, slide, scale, rotate or bounce – with a start time and duration you drag into place. Play runs the animation on the canvas.
A picture from the AI is made at the banner's exact size – a 728 × 90 leaderboard, a 1080 × 1920 story, any size you set – and costs 3 credits. It takes up to a minute; you can keep editing while it is made, and nothing you change in the meantime is lost.
One design, every size
More sizes turns a finished banner into a set. Pick a pack (display or social), single sizes, or Custom ones; each size is laid out and shown before anything is saved. A size of the same shape keeps each layer where it was; a different shape (a rectangle becoming a leaderboard) re-flows the words so they stay readable – nothing is stretched. For the Picture, Reuse the master's, or make a New one per size at that size's exact pixels (3 credits each – the total shows before you start). The sizes stay linked to the master in your Library.
Export
Export gives you:
- Images – PNG, JPG or WebP at the exact pixels, one size or every size in the set as a zip.
- HTML5 display package – per size, a zip with the banner and its images, the animations included, the ad size declared for the ad server, and a clickTag that opens your Click-through URL. It is built to the Google Ads, Google Ad Manager and DV360 convention. The dialog shows each package's size and warns above 150 KB, Google Ads' limit. For a set, download every size's package in one zip. Video layers are left out of packages, and the dialog says so.
From chat and your AI teammates
Ask chat for one banner – "a LinkedIn banner for our spring launch, headline 'Keep your frames', button 'Shop now'" – and it makes a finished image with the words set into the design, at the size you name. The words you give are the only words on it; nothing is added.
Ask for an editable banner, several sizes, an ad set or an HTML5 package – "make a LinkedIn and a 300 × 250 banner for our spring launch" – and chat builds a Banner Studio document instead: the picture at each size you name, the words as editable layers in your brand, a preview in the conversation and a link that opens it in Banner Studio. Your AI teammates make banners the same way.
Image Center
Create an image at any size
Create makes new images from a description: What should it show?, an exact width and height from 64 to 4,096 pixels (or a preset for social, display ads, video and thumbnails, web and print), up to four References from your Library or an upload, and How many (1 to 4). Each image costs 3 credits and arrives at exactly the size you set.
An image carries no words unless you ask for them – quote the copy, or ask for a headline, caption or label, and it is written in. Quoted words are the only words it carries.
Your logo goes on ads and banners, and whenever you ask for it; photos, scenes and illustrations stay clean. For a social post image, chat asks whether you want the logo on it and remembers your answer for the rest of the conversation. The same holds in chat: ask for "an image of our coffee on a marble counter" and you get the picture, not a picture with a slogan.
Resize one image into every format
Smart Resize turns one image into many sizes – every major platform's formats plus your own custom sizes. Choose the Method:
- Recompose – the AI rebuilds the picture for each shape at its exact size, so nothing important is cut off (4 credits a size; very small sizes are made from the image as a reference instead, at 3 credits, and the panel says which).
- Crop to size – an instant, free centre crop.
The total shows before anything runs; results appear as they finish and download together as a zip.
Edit the images you have
Remove a background, enhance, upscale, colorize, reimagine, combine two images, or restage a product photo in Product Studio. Each tool shows its price on the button and charges exactly that. Resize keeps the proportions locked unless you unlock them, and warns you before stretching.
To fix one part of a picture and keep the rest exactly as it is, select it and choose Edit an area: paint over the part to change, say what should change there, and only that part is redrawn – the rest stays the original, pixel for pixel, at its full size. The edited picture takes the original's place on the canvas. The same Edit an area sits under every picture in the chat – see Chat.
Everything you make lands in the brand's Library, where your whole team can find it.
